Caustic Soda Flakes | Caustic Soda pearl Manufacturer and Supplier
What is Sodium Hydroxide?
Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) (CAS: 1310-73-2), commonly known as caustic soda, is a highly versatile and powerful alkaline compound. It is a white, odorless solid that readily absorbs moisture and is highly soluble in water, generating significant heat upon dissolution. Sodium hydroxide is widely used across various industries due to its strong alkaline properties.
Applications of Caustic Soda
1. Paper Making and Cellulose Pulp Production:
Caustic soda is used in the production of paper and cellulose pulp.
2. Soap and Detergent Manufacturing:
It plays a role in producing soap, synthetic detergents, and fatty acids.
3. Textile and Dyeing Industry:
Caustic soda is employed in cotton desizing, silk treatment, and textile processes.
4. Chemical Industry:
It contributes to the production of various chemicals, including borax, sodium cyanide, and oxalic acid.
5. Petroleum Refining:
In the petroleum industry, caustic soda helps refine petroleum products and treat oil drilling mud.
6. Glass, Enamel, and Leather-Making:
It finds applications in glass manufacturing, enamel production, and leather processing.
7. Water Electrolysis and Inorganic Salt Production:
Caustic soda is essential in water electrolysis and the creation of inorganic salts.
8.Used as alkaline desiccant:
Caustic Soda, also named sodium hydroxide, NaOH, is caustic alkali with strong causticity, generally presented as flake or pearl form, soluble in water, soluble in water heating and formation of alkaline solution, otherwise deliquescence, easy to absorb water vapor in the air. NaOH is one of the essential chemicals in the chemistry laboratory. It is also one of the common chemicals. A pure product is a clear ,colorless crystal.
